hurrah. things are kind of going right! i just completed my first week back in 'school' (as the local community college refers to itself) in about four years, i've completely moved into my new apartment (free cable!), one of my best friends is visiting from chicago and today i actually won a pair of free tickets to go see built to spill! could things be any better?

well, let's see.
school is goign well so far, if you dont mind overlooking my english teacher, who uses sentences such as 'U2 released they're first album in 1982,' ostensibly to illustrate incorrect use of possessive pronouns, but in fact as a means of achieving some kind of street cred. yes, school is terrific- i never thought that a local comunity college could assemble so many like-minded academics clever enough to appreciate (and ennumerate in countless wearisome "introductory interviews") favorite books of such noble caliber as 'Jurassic Park, 'The Celestine Prophecy' or 'Where The Red Fern Grows.'
the free cable in my apartment couldn't be better. when i got home from work yesterday, Gunsmoke! was playing in full, true color as Krameron and i walked into the apartment and began to cook some ramen noodles of dubious vegetarian status. the reception seemed to fade a little, however, when my roommate stood up from the couch, grabbed a nearby handbag and lifted it high above her head before throwing it with both hands, full-force at the floor. she then screamed, "I HAVE THE FUCKING WORST HEADACHE IN MY LIFE AND I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING WOKEN UP!!!" which she followed by storming into her room and slamming the door, at which point Lorne greene's distinguished features resharpened and the tv became eminently watchable once more.
my chicago buddy is forcing me to go to a bar called The Edge tonight. if you are not from ann arbor, no matter. i assume that from the name of this bar you can deduce that i will not belong there. updates to follow.
