i'm kind of vaguely panicking because i printed up a bunch of nick drake guitar tabs this evening and misplaced them. not frightening in and of itself, to be sure...but the thing is, i'm at work, and i'm pretty sure i accidentally sent them out to one of the surgery departments in the medical school with a bunch of paperwork they actually need to treat patients. this will have to be resolved with much explaining. i can just see a periodontics doctor discussing the matter with a patient. "the good news is we caught it in an early tuning...the bad news is, well, your capo has relapsed."
this is also distracting because i was right in the middle of working on the screenplay for my movie. in it, a homeless blind man stumbles drunkenly into a public library and manages to find a computer with an open instant messenger window (let's make it Yahoo! to be different). while using his fists to pound away at the keys, he unintentionally sends a gibberish message to a blind corporate woman in the big apple, who responds but excitedly typing in more garbled nonsense. they fall in love and get married. obviously, randy newman scores the film, tentatively titled "You've Got Braille."
it feels so good to be productive!
