since ive started working the day shift here at the office, my job duties have changed ever so slightly. to keep me busy during the first few hours of the day (which are usually very slow) my boss has given me a new responsibility. every morning i print a list of patients who have recently died. i then locate the proper treatment form in their medical charts, upon which i write "Patient Deceased," the date they stopped living, and i sign my name. i use a permanent marker to write a large letter 'D' on the covers of their records. and this is how i earn my keep in the workaday world.
